WONDERFUL WILDLIFE TOWERS...
A wildlife tower attracts many different types of creatures and can be easily built using discarded wooden pallets filled with all manner of items you have re cycled.
We have used a few old pallets stacked on top of each other and placed things in and around it such as hay and straw; dead wood; logs drilled with holes; crumpled up sacking; loose bark; corrugated cardboard rolled up and placed inside a waterproof tube such as a water bottle with both ends cut off; old house bricks with the holes and plant pots with wild flowers to attract beneificial insects.
Make sure there are lots of little nooks and crannies for little creatures to crawl about and live happily together.

Plant up around the edge of your Wildlife Tower with wild flowers such as Foxgloves, Candytuft, Echinops, Echinacea, Cornflower, Ox Eye Daisy, Birds Foot Trefoil and Purple Loosestrife.
For a full list of wild flowers to plant to help encourage beneficial insects into your garden please visit www.OrganicCatalogue.com where you will find lots of useful information.
You could build much smaller and more haphazard structures such as this one which is essentially a pile of old discarded tree trunks with a very useful openings ideal for hedgehogs...
