A happy ending for a mum cat who had been dumped in a skip and tied up in a curtain in South Leeds.

Luckily someone heard a 'meow' from the tightly knotted parcel, opened it up to find a mum cat and four newly born kittens! Mum had given birth to the kittens whilst tied up in the curtain. WYAIN were called out and acted immediately. 

How could anyone do this I ask myself...

Needless to say, we arrived hotfoot for the family as soon as we were alerted to their plight. We brought the family of five home with us where they were safe, warm, well fed and loved.

They were rushed to our vet for assessment. One tiny kitten had a terrible infection in her unopened eye which the vet fought really hard to save. The others were okay but needed lots of tlc. 

The situation could have been much worse if they had not been found. Death by starvation,  by being squashed or from the cold weather!

All the kittens and mum have been re homed into loving environments and, needless to say, all have been neutered.

Surely the message from this is that all cats and dogs must be neutered before they have a litter otherwise this kind of situation will happen over and over again.
